Wapadrand is an upmarket suburb of the city of Pretoria. Located to the east of Lynnwood, the area boasts a luxuriant birdlife along with a large variety of indigenous trees. A brief history of the area
Wapadrand was established in the late 1980's to meet the growing demand for residential property in the fast-expanding Pretoria east. The suburb was named after old wagon ruts by of one of its founders, the architect Koos Reyneke.

As part of Pretoria, Wapadrand's hottest months fall between October and February, when maximum temperatures tend to reach 28°C to 30°C. Minimum temperatures in summer are generally between 16°C and 18°C. Winter cools down to an average minimum of 5°C, reaching a maximum of approximately 19°C. Wapadrand gets most of its rainfall in summer, with January being the wettest month.
