Designing a Luxury Primary Bedroom

Designing a Luxury Primary Bedroom

Since COVID-19, staying at home has become the norm. Work-from-home opportunities are frequent, and we usually see advice on how to set up a home office to maximise productivity.

But how can you maximise your bedroom for optimal rest and rejuvenation?

In a society that values work-life balance, creating the ideal atmosphere to unwind and feel at peace is necessary. Since your bedroom is your inner sanctum, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t feel like a high-end space.

Here are some tips to give your bedroom a luxury finish.

Zone Your Space

The goal here is to create an experience in your room. You can divide your room into three ‘separate’ areas, such as an area for sleep, one for lounging and a section for work.

The focal point of the bedroom should be your bed. Place your bed between two side tables to create the illusion of more space and openness. To elevate the aesthetic, add a textured headboard in a contrasting but complementary colour to the rest of the bedroom’s decor scheme.

Unsurprisingly, many people use their bedroom as an office space, especially when space is limited. A great way to create a designated workspace distinctly different from your sleep space is to place your desk directly behind your couch to maintain the flow of the space without overcrowding it.

Introduce Luxurious Materials

Tactically introducing textile elements can make a significant impact on space. Simply opting for a plush velvet sofa or reupholstering your armchair in leather instantly improves the style quotient.

Of course, ensure the additional materials match the rest of the room. Adding deep velvet cushions or throws creates a sense of balance by adding natural materials like wood or stone finishes. This aesthetic combines elegance and brutalism. What’s more high-end than that?

Create YOUR Dream Hotel Room

Once you’ve mastered adding furniture for both function and design, you can now add the finishing touches. Personal elements will mark the space with individuality and uniqueness.

There are many components to personalise, even with limited space. You have complete control over the art you want on the walls, how warm or dazzling you want your lighting to be and even the scene you want to experience when you enter the room.

Customising these elements to match your preferences can evoke a sense of home even though you’re curating a hotel-like aesthetic.
